I hope someone with access to this information can double check
something for me. I'm writing a book about my ancestors in the Civil War
and
the information I had rec'd about my GGgrandfathers brother is conflicting.
This is what I rec'd:
According to the Boone Co. Old Soldiers Book......
John Baldwin
Rank: private
Company/Regiment: Company C, 150th infantry
Residence: Boone County
Date of Muster: 15 Feb 1865
Remarks: mustered out 5 Aug 1865
=======================
Early Life and Times of Boone County, pub. 1887 by Harden &
Spahr--found John Baldwin Pvt. Co. C, 150th infantry, residence was Boone
County, entered Feb. 15, 1865, mustered out Aug. 5, 1865.
1894 Pension List, Center Twp., Boone Co.- John Baldwin, Pvt. Co. C, 159th
Ind. Vol. Address: Lebanon, IN, no children under 16 listed. Suffered
with
chronic diarrhea (?)
So as you can see, it lists Co. C 150th and 159th?? Was this a typo
in the correspondense? Which one is the correct Unit? If anyone can help
straighten this out I would appreciate it.

My GGGrandfather was also a Pvt. in the 150th Co. C from Boone County.
I dont know that what you have is a typo or not.... but one good question to
try and find out is if John Baldwin inlisted twice.. Are you sure he didn't
re~inlist or transfer......later.. after the war? I am not sure how this
works with the re~listing but it is an idea to think about
Just thought I would run this by you since our grandfathers were
inlisted in the 150th for a short time.
