In the 1920 Directory of Farmers of Boone County is the following:
Elmer E. Hawkins, children Alf,Lee,Ward,Grace, He came to Boone Co in 1861
and was renting the farm from John A Griffin.
In the Early Will Records of Boone Co is the following:
Anthony Griffin, wife Nancy, ch John, GrCh: John H Hawkins, Thomas B
Hawkins,Elmer E Hawkins and John S Anderson.
Wit: Wm Evans and Aaron Miller
Date of will: 6 Aug 1868 Probated: 22 Aug 1868
In the Boone Co Cemeteries Book Elmer Elsworth Hawkins if buried in Bethel
Cemetery which is in Washington Township. He was born 1 Dec 1861 and died 17
Feb 1932. There is also a Mathew Hawkins there born 25 Mar 1881 10m 27 days
s/o H.C. and N.A.
In the book Boone County Indiana History 1984 on page 279 is a picture of a
Hawkins Reunion 1904 and Elmer is in it and there is a bio of John Hawkins
Family.

Mr. Hawkins was in Center Twp. as of the 1920 Census, but I do not have
proof of
the location of his death. If an obituary can be found, please
identify the newspaper, and the place and date of publication, and thanks
for any help.
