The book I have says that records were copied first in April 1965 and
records were added to from death records, biographical histories, etc. 1989.
The book does not say where the graves were, only names and dates.

Subject: [INBOONE-L] Mechanicsburg Cemetery
Hello,
I joined this list to learn more about my Boone Co family, the family of
Thomas McMullen and Alice Tatum, who lived at Lebanon (early) and
Mechanicsburg (later) during their married life from 1886 till Alice's
death in 1920. Tom then married Annie (?) and lived at Mechanicsburg.
Tom
McMullen died at the home of his son in law and daughter, Henry and
Edna
Swift, near Lebanon.
Knowing that Thomas, Alice, (2)wife Annie, and son Luther are buried at
the
Mechanicsburg Cemetery, on Friday my sister and I visited that
location
with a first cousin once-removed. Our cousin was able to show us where he
thinks this family is buried, but there are no stones. I understand there
is a list for the cemetery at libraries in Thorntown and Lebanon.
In the event the list doesn't tell us exactly where our family is buried,
who is responsible for this cemetery or might have old records? Our
cousin
said the cemetery has been cleared of brush in recent years. Stones
have
toppled and may not be close to the correct graves.
If there are other McMullen/Tatum researchers out there, other children in
this family included Grover McMullen, who died young; Jesse Ray McMullen
(my grandfather); and Luther McMullen, who was shot as a young man outside
a bar at Shepherdsville, Vermillion Co IN. There were two unknown
children, one of whom may have died after being burned. Both apparently
died young.
I have Tatum and McMullen ancestors and photos to happily share.
