MARY HAWKINS

At Residence Here
Mrs. Mary Ann Hawkins died at 5 a.m. Sunday at her home, 904 North Lebanon street, of a
complication of diseases following an illness of eighteen months' duration.
Mrs. Hakwins was born in Jackson county, Indiana, 66 years ago. She spent practically all
her life in Boone county.
She was married August 24, 1882, in Lebanon to J. H. Hawkins, who survives. Besides the
husband she leaves six children: Mrs. Lillie Phillips and Eugene G. Hawkins, of
Indianapolis; Walter of Lebanon; James H. of Danville, Ill.; Mrs. Maude Tanner and Dorothy
Hawkins, at parents' home in Lebanon. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and
a sister, Addie R. Smith, of Atchison, Kansas. Three sisters, Maude Vail, Ella Smith and
Alma Heaton, are deceased.
She was a member of the Center Christian church at Lebanon. The funeral will be conducted
from the residence at 2 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Carl H. Barnett. Burial will be in Oak
Hill cemetery.
