Dear Debbie,
I found the following;

ARTHUR ANDREWS
Arthur Andrews was born March 10, 1753, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
He served as a private and lieutenant with Pennsylvania units under Captains
McDowell, Hayes, Evans, and Ball, and was pensioned by the government on
April 26, 1833, at the age of 81 years. Another source says Andrews was born
in Ireland, and his granddaughter, Mrs. James Boylan of Thorntown, told
reporters in 1897 that he died on January 1, 1845, at the age of 89 years.
He was buried in Hopewell Cemetery, five miles north of Lebanon.
Andrews was first married to Ruth Douglas and then to Anna Cooper
(1753-1817). He fathered eight children- Isabelle, James, Arthur Jr., Ruth,
Phoebe, Jane, Anne, and Lettice. He was said to have been an Eccentric old
gentleman, fond of playing the fiddle, and wore his regimental uniform to
the day of his death.
The stone placed at Andrews grave by Boone County was dedicated on Sunday
afternoon, November 7, 1897, with Rev. C.C. Brown speaking on "Patriotism of
'76," Other speakers were C.M. Zion and Noah Loughrum. The monument was
unveiled by Morton Thornberry, a great grandson.
Hope this helps :-)
Rebecca

Hi:
I am looking for information on an Arthur Andrews who is buried at
Hopewell cemetery and is Rev. War vet. I believe that he died in
1849 and is not listed on the 1850 census. Are there obit. available
for that time period? Is there information available on the Rev. War
vets that are buried in Boone Co? Where would I write for a copy of
a will or probate papers? One last question, approximately how many
miles is it between Lebanon and Union in Montgomery Co. I believe
that this Arthur had a son Arthur who lived in Union Montgomery Co.
I am not at all familiar with the Boone County area so any help or
advise would be appreciated
Thanks.
Debbie
