You should consider that the family might have moved on but been reported
with slightly different names in the 1900 census. At least William may be
living then, if the parents had died. You may find death records in IN
from 1882, but not all deaths were recorded.
An example of name change: William Asbury Tatum was listed as William
Tatum in IN in 1870 He is very likely the Berry Tatum in IA in 1880 with a
different wife and some of the same children. He also acquired some
children from his second wife(?), who were also surnamed Tatum per the
census. If they were his, he abandoned his first wife, Rachel Hendrixson,
long before their divorce, reported by Rachel on the 1880 census for White
Co.
Think creatively. Your family may have been as "creative" as mine.

Looking for William BALDWIN b. ca1847 Owen or Putnam Co. IN.
Last child
of John BALDWIN b.1797 Anne Arundel Co.MD and Elizabeth THOMAS b. 1807 VA.
They resided in Montogomery Co.IN up until the 1870 census, living in
Union Twp, Crawfordsville, IN. Both parents seemed to have most likely
died bef
the 1880 census as I can find neither of them. I can not find their son
William either.
Would anyone have any information about this William BALDWIN? A
possible
marriage in Mont. Co. or surrounding ones, possibly Boone or Putnam as he has
siblings living in each. I have not found him living with any of his
siblings.
Does anyone know of any epidemic that might have happend between the
years 1870-80 in that area of IN? Maybe he and his parents all died
during that
time frame? Any information is welcome.
