I'm aware of the Dudley Curl in Louisiana in the 1860 (?). That would have
made him abt 90 yrs old, still not an impossibility and have asked a contact
who has access to the 1860 census to check for his quoted age. On the
other hand, Penelope, the wife went to MO alone in 1829. Maybe they split up
but somehow doubt it as they were strong Methodists.
I vote for his death in Indiana. I've been told by someone in Monroe county
that he's not listed in burial records such as are available. There were
CURLs in several other IN counties and I'm checking those now (the IN
Rootsweb postings)and for any possibility of his having moved out of Monroe
after 1823 (his last appearance in Monroe Cty) to a neighboring county.

listed below. Could your Dudley have gone to Louisiana?
