Hello,
Thanks for your info. Are you willing to do look ups? My Bowen line may account for some of the 45. I think they are mostly in Precinct Cemetary. Absalom & wife Jane. Their son Robert Ross Bowen & two wives Eliza and Mary. They had 9 children.
Feel free to email me direct if you prefer. JYoung57(a)comcast.net.
Thanks again.
Jeff

Hi Mark,
My BOWENs in Boone County came from Fayette County, Pa. I go back to Samuel b 1755 d 1822, his son Absolom b 1777 d 1849 in Thorntown then his daughter Orpha b 1820 d 1881 in Cass County, Iowa.
One of my cousins has been trying to get past Samuel for years with no success. She recently sent me info about "Welsh Baptists" in early 1700's one of whom was a Bowen. I've been wondering if there is some link with groups of Bowens showing up in places like central Indiana. But have nothing to support it.
Keep in touch.
Jeff

Hello Jeff,
I am curious about your Bowen line in Boone County. I have William J. Bowen and Anna L. Lindsay who married July 11, 1885 in neighboring Tippecanoe County. I connect through Anna. Any connection to your Bowen line?
Mark

Are you still looking for info? I looked at the census and Francis Bowen age 69 is further up the page with two teen aged sons. Just below him is Sampson Bowen age 36 and then John age 42. Have you considered researching the family grouping. Francis was born in Va, but looks like children were all Kentucky.
I have a Bowen line in Boone county, but I don't think I'm related to these folks.

Thank you for your response. They all lived in or near Brownsburg. Many are
buried in the Bethesda Cemetery there. On the 1870 census records he
(Philomen Jr.) lived in Middle Township of Hendricks County. I find Philomen
Sr. in Brown Township on the same census record. I do not have access to
on-line census records and need to find Philomen Sr.'s daughter and husband
Peter and Julia Hulsizer in Boone County, Indiana on the 1870 census record.
This is where he died in 1872. His will was filed in Hendricks county on
1/3/1872, Book 3 Page 290. I found Peter and Julia Hulsizer in the Bethesda
Cemetery but the father Philomen. What a mystery.
