I also checked Boone County Indiana Cemeteries, Vol I & II and found no listing for a James Davidson Pitzer, or any variation. I did note that the description for the Pitzer Cemetery in Vol I from 1990 states, "The entire cemetery is covered with briars and nearly all the stones have been overturned." So, it is possible he may have been buried in this same cemetery, but a gravestone from 1849 has been lost and thus was not recorded.
You might try old funeral home records if they exist for that time, or a newspaper death notice.

Davidson Pitzer full name was James Davidson Pitzer b. 1800 in Va. d. 1851 in Boone County Ind. However Nash L. Pitzer had a son named James Davidson Pitzer b. 1820 in Va. and d. 1849 in Boone County. James Davidson Pitzer b. 1800 is listed in the 1850 census for Marion County Ind. The info I have says he is buried in Zionsville. I am trying to verify that. I am trying to find a will for both Nash and James Davidson. Thanks for you info.

Does anyone have access to a cemetery index for Sugar Creek Twp or possibly
Oak Hill Cemetery?
I'm attempting to locate Thomas Moss, wife Amanda (Pavey) Moss - both appear
to have died after 1920.
Thanks for any guidance.

Yes, Clarence Buis came from Putnam Co. In fact, I need to look at my notes, but Caleb Buis moved from South Carolina to Indiana, in the 1800s, which started the Buis in Putnam Co.

Thanks for letting me know about the cemetary and thanks for your help. I am trying to get information for my husband's side of the family. Ruth Stewart, Wm's daughter, my mother in laws mother, Wm's granddaughter and married Clarence Buis, evidently Ruth died at a young age of cancer, while her daughter was very young. Thank you!

I may be able to help, but will have to wait a few days until I get back home. For one thing, there is no OAK GROVE cemetery in Boone Co, my guess and I can prove it once I get back home, is its OAK HILL..cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana, boone Co..I will also check my records as I have some Stewarts in my off branch, that was from Putnam Co, Indiana, I don't know if this one connects or not..
Your William and Clara mrd in Boone Co, Indiana 10 Nov 1886, I also have the marriage supplements, which may show who his parents are..
Happy Searching,

An index for the 1980 book is on-line, and in it are about a half-dozen page references for the name Reber. I need to know what those pages have to say about this family. George W. Reber was a minister (Baptist, I think) who lived in Boone County from before 1880 until his death in 1918. Both he and his wife, Emma/Emaline, are buried in the old Thornton Cemetery. He must have been a substantial member of the community, but information on him is hard to find. It's also possible his father, George H. Reber, died in Boone County. I have no info on where or when he might have died or been buried - not even a wild guess. Any help you might extend will be deeply appreciated because this has been a very difficult line to research.
If you are referring to the Thorntown book we have one at the Thorntown
Library. The index to it is on the genealogy page.
