hi thank you for the info ill wright to Robert and get a copy as im in
NC he gave me some of what he had all ready and i still have his email.
Rhonda
I apologize that I neglected to list the subject in a recent post to the list. I'm usually quite responsible about that, as I use the digest form to go through these, and ignore messages that don't immediately appear relevant to me. However, all my messages are readily identifiable as coming from the Boone County (or other rootsweb) list, so I am always quite certain they're not spam. Having just left AOL after seven years, I know the only way it could be considered spam by them (not that they care--they're useless with real spam) is if someone intentionally reported it as such. I would never report a message I know came from Rootsweb as spam, since I asked to receive it--even if it isn't relevant to my search.
I hope everyone will take care, and I commit to trying harder, to identifying their subject matter in the subject line. And when we don't, I hope everyone will be forgiving.
Nice to see activity on this list finally, and thanks for all the interest in Casons, Kernodles, Witts, Strains and all other Boone County families.
There seems to be a lot of requests going around for the name Witt. My great-grandfather's sister, Bertie Curtis (b. 12 Jun 1892 KY) married Alva Witt (b. abt 1888 IN).
I have a OLD photo of Alva Witt, my grandfather William Ellis Curtis and his brother Elmer Curtis. This photo was probably taken in the early 1900's. Just in case someone is researching Alva & Bertie, I would be happy to exchange any info or photos.
Thanks,
Kim Nguyen
Since I get so may unwanted e-mail, I routinely delete e-mails that I do not
recognize, I notify AOL of Spam Mail received, and I block the address from
my acceptable e-mail list. Please identify what you are writing about
clearly, or you will be blocked from my e-mail, and AOL may look into Boone
County for spamming.
Thanks Cuzzie... even if we are shirttail cuzzies <grin>.
This does help a lot.
Hugs,
Cheryl

Cheryl,
Looks like she's in my line as well. She was a sister of my
gr-gr-grandfather, Oliver Cason. Here's her family group. It shows John's
father as Thomas Cason, which we know. The next two generations, William and
Roger, are speculation still at this point, but there are so few Casons in
the area at that time (mid-1700s) that there are only so many suspects. Hope
this helps!

I've just thumbed through the book of Witts I received. It's from Robert
Daniel Wright of Wichita, KS. If memory serves, he said he was also going to
provide copies to some of the libraries, so it may be on the shelf at
Lebanon, and could also possibly be in the collection of the Indiana State
Library's Genealogy section.
Anywho, it seems to start with Michael Witt, Jr., born in 1795 in Guilford,
NC. Michael ended up in Lebanon, died in 1861, and is buried in Cedar Hill
Cem., according to Robert's book.
Mary B. Cason, mentioned in my earlier message this morning, was sister to
Margaret Cason, who married a John D. Witt (1819-1900). John was evidently
the son of Michael and Susannah Wyrick Witt. Hope this helps.
