Janice,
I visited the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church in Boone County on a visit
to Indiana last summer (I live in California). I'm not sure if it is still
being used but it may be. I have a small pamphlet (from 1970) that was
issued on the 100th anniversery of the founding that I am typing into my
computer. It lists the founders and members as well as some interesting
information on how it was started. I should finish it tonight and will send
you a copy. Several of my ancestors were founding members.
During my visit I was also able to visit the nearby Jones Cemetery which is
the resting place of my great great grandfather and many other relatives.
In addition, I visited the library in Lebanon and the Sullivan Museum in
Zionsville; both contain a treasure trove of information about local
families.
As said, I'll send you an e-mail copy of the church history when I finish
it tonight.
Best wishes, Ken Jones
Can anyone on this list give me any information on two small churches in Marion Twp. Boone County or tell me where I might find some history or information of these churches.
I would like anything on the ANTIOCH PRIMATIVE BAPTIST CHURCH. The little church is still standing in rural Marion Twp. about two miles north of Big Springs. I have reason to believe my great grandfather was one of the founders of this church and I would like to know more about it. Are there still services in it?
Also I am interested in the BEECH GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH which is no longer in existence but has been turned into a residence. It is located about three miles south of 47 about 3miles east of Elizaville. I wonder if anyone has access to the records. My ancestors were members here also.

The 1850 Boone Co, IN census shows a Benjamin BEEMAN, Clergyman (can't read
what kind), aged 45, b: NC with wife, Mary, age: 45, b: KY and children John
T. age:16; Elizabeth J, 14; Adam, 12; Jesse, 6 (all children born in IN.)
The Boone Co USGenWeb site has a Benjamin Beaman (Minister) who was there by
1831. I assume these two Benjamins are one and the same??
Does anyone know if this is the same Benjamin Beaman who md. Mary BUSEY in
Washington Co, IN on March 22, 1825? I am trying to determine whether or
not this Benjamin was the brother of Peninah Allene (Beaman) PAVEY (b: 1799,
NC) who migrated to Boone Co, IN by the 1860 census from Washington Co.
There was also another sister, Mary (Beaman) NEWBY (wife of Sam. Newby III),
sister, who remained in Washington Co. Another possible brother, David
Beaman (b: abt. 1803, NC) md. Camilla WADE in Wash. Co. on 3/28/1824.
Believe these BEAMANs may well have been the children of Josiah and Sarah
(Pearson) Beaman of Randolph Co, NC. There was another brother, Jesse, b:
abt. 1801 in North Carolina.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks.
Marsha

Hello to everyone & happy spring! If you do not live in the central
Indiana area, it has been a beautiful spring. Everything seems to be
blooming at the same time. It has been hard to keep a hat on with the
wind, but it is spring and summer can only be around the corner. But,
please pray for rain!
I have been working on some changes with the Boone County site to help
make it a little easier to read. Also, I have made the following
additions.
Thanks to all of you for helping to make this site a great one!

Submitted by Bob Merrill <bmerrill(a)mmcable.com>
He included the following:
"For many years, I've had an old violin/fiddle with the name of "S. N.
Osb---, MD, Rainsville, Indiana" written on the underneath side of the
top, in pencil. I believe Squire N. Osburn owned this fiddle at one
time as I know he set up practice in Rainsville about 1874. This Doctor
lived at different times in Parke, Boone and Clinton counties according
to a biographical sketch I have of him. He also served in the Civil
War. I have, over the years, attempted to contact Osburn decendants as
I would like to return the fiddle to the family. Interested Osburn
decendants may contact me at the above email address."

Hi listers
My grandfather Doyle Paddock/Paddack was born in Sheridan in 1894. His
father was Lewis and his mother was Sarah Ann Meyers. I'm trying to track
down some of his cousins.
He had an Uncle Joe Paddock/Paddack who was a house painter born about 1859,
married Jean Hutchinson. I don't know if they had children/
He had an Uncle Charles E Paddock/Paddack born 1866 m Emma A Fisher 12 Apr
1888. They had a son Clark Paddock/Paddack b 1891 d 1977. I don't think
that Clark ever married.
He had an Uncle Samuel Paddock/Paddack b 1855 m Alpharetta Pittman. Their
children:
John W Paddock/Paddack 1880 m Norah Malott 1882-1968
Estella Paddock/Paddack b 1882 m Ed Gourney
Lavina Mabel Paddock/Paddack b 1887 m George Owens
Clement J Paddock/Paddack 1892 m Opal Lissmony 1891-1968
Possible Daughter Opal Paddock/Paddack 1918-1998
He had an Uncle John W Paddock/Paddack 1852/55 m Ella Sutton b1856. Their
children
Albert Paddock/Paddack
Charles Paddock/Paddack b abt 1874
Osa Paddock/Paddack b abt 1877
He had an Aunt Phoebe Paddock/Paddack m 1874 William S (Taylor) Johns
(Daughter Bessie)
He had an Aunt Rachel Paddock/Paddack m 1875 Jacob Newcomer (Children Harry
and Grace)
He had 'half' Aunts and Uncles Henry Paddock/Paddack, Catherine
Paddock/Paddack m Calvin Matthews,
Cynthia Paddock/Paddack, Ellen Paddock/Paddack m George Dilliner
Melra Paddock/Paddack, Miriam Paddock/Paddack m Clifford Burr and Jerry
Echolds, Moses Milburn Paddock/Paddack m Jennie Echolds.
I just found an Errol Paddack 1915-1995 from Sheridan, children Dwight and
Norman from Boone County.
I can't find the Echolds or Hutchinson's. I know there was a Veva Gail m
Herbert Beard in Sheridan about the same time, but don't know how she
connects to grandpa. Supposedly a cousin.
Has anyone heard of any of these people?
Pamela Paddock Arnold
