Is there anything in the Boone History about the John Fremont Stephenson
married to Mary Etta Fisher and their family? I have lots of
Stephenson's in Boone Co. Thanks. Pam Stephenson.
I have a Rebecca Ann Click (b: 1846) who md: a Thomas Small in Boone Co,
10/1/1874. She died in 1903 and is buried at Oak Hill. Plus, I show an
Elmira Small who md: James Mathew Pavey, Boone Co, IN on 4/8/1869. She died
7/5/1877, Montgomery Co, KS. James Matthew Pavey was a brother to Sarah Ann
Pavey Click, mother of Rebecca Click who md: Thomas Small.
Any connections here do you think?

Does anyone have access to records of the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon IN?
I'm interested in Felicity Shulse Small in particular, any other Small's
interred there would be helpful as well. Thanks!

Is this site part of Rootsweb, or is it an independent state site? Or, in
other words, could you give the url?
Thanks!
Ruth
Don't take this as gospel but I think since 1882 the State of Indiana has
required death records be kept. The county may have records prior to that, I
am not sure.
Marriage records thru 1850 for Indiana are on the Indiana State Web Site.
I plan to be in Lebanon on Saturday. I will take a drive thru and see if I can
spot any burial spots. The Mc Cord Cemetery is also nearby but most stones are
very old. Will try to check them also. You might write the PH Sullivan
Genealogical Library and Museum in Zionsville, IN 46077 at 225 W. Hawthorne
St. They are very helpful.

I want to thank all the nice researchers that provided information to me
recently to help me trace my Boone County CARR, WEST and EVANS families,
while I live overseas. Can someone tell me how I can obtain copies of the
various Boone CO. historical and biographical books that I have seen
excerpts of online? Some of the titles that I have knowledge of are:
"History of Boone County, Indiana," and " Early Life And Times Of Boone
County, Indiana." Perhaps there are others? Big thanks again!
Teresa

Is the book "History of Boone Co., Indiana", 1984...a reprint or orig. pub. in
1984? Do you have an author for it?

Tim, don't have info you wanted but wanted to be sure you were aware there is
an article in the "History of Boone Co., IN " book published in 1984 aobut the
Mc Cord
Cemetery. "The Mc Cord Cemetery is the only cemetery in Worth township that
is still visible. It is southeast of Whitestown on land entered by John Mc
Cord. John entered the land in 1832 and was said to be one of the first to
raise a crop of corn. John came to Boone County with his father, John Sr., and
his brothers, William and Samuel Mc Cord, and a son-in-law, Robert Thomas,
from Johnson County, IN. Other stones still remaining, the earliest is that of
Jack Aulton who died in 1`841. He was the son of Irvin and Susanna Aulton. In
August of 1849, the Mc Cords lost three of their children, Lynda, Alexander,
and Paulina. The cause must have been smallpox or typhus, as several others
died within that month, all children: Alfred Booher, Arus Rudde, George Brown,
Levenus Kisling, and John Aulton.
John Mc Cord died in 18521 and the land was sold to Richard Hull who is also
buried in the cemetery among his family. Other surnames are: Neese, Wills,
Beaman, White, Hawkins, Parrish, Brandenburg, Porter, and Standeford. The last
burial known was that of Elizabeth Neese, age 79, in 1888". Contributed by
Janice West of Whitestown, Worth Twp., Boone Co., IN.
You may be very lucky. Janice West, a local genealogist, is related to the
CARR's and the West family. Her address is 108 Turner St., Whitestown, IN.
46075 317-769-3704. The West family has been researched a lot locally by Ida
May & Nora Belle West of the same family.. The book, History of Boone Co.,
Indiana , 1984. has info on Prince Albert Carr on page 450 under West family
info.
Samuel and Susannah (Evans) West were the parents of twelve children, one of
which Mary Etta, married Prince Albert Carr. A note to MADoyle(a)aol.com will
put you in touch with the genealogist at the PH Sullivan Museum in Zionsville,
IN where they have much info on Boone Co. including the census. I am sure
MADoyle would help you out.
I would be so very, very, grateful if someone who has access to either the
1860 Indiana census, or CD # 304 for the Indiana census would look up a name
for me. I live in Japan and I have virtually no access to genealogical
resource data.
This is my great-grandfather PRINCE ALBERT CARR, b. ca. 1850, and location
unknown (IN?) I have been told that the name PRINCE A. CARR is listed on
this census. Prince Albert CARR married Susannah WEST ca. 1877, and they
lived and died in Boone CO. IN. Please e-mail me personally after posting
here. Thanks to all.
