HARTFORD CITY - Thelma Edna Keenan, 79, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, at 7:30 a.m.
Saturday at her residence. She died of complications.
She had lived in Hartford City all of her life.

She was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Hartford City to Samuel F. Elliott and Vera G. (Sopher)
Elliott. Both parents preceded her in death; her father on March 13, 1964, and her mother
on Sept. 26,1978.
Her first husband was Marion H. Schmidt, who she married June 16, 1945, and he died Feb.
4, 1964. She married Julius Keenan on June 22, 1966, and he died Jan. 11, 1978.
She graduated from Roll High School in 1944. She retired from RCA-Thompson Consumer
Electronics in 1986. She had worked there from 1955 to 1986.
She attended Trinity United Methodist Cowboy Church in Hartford City. She was a member of
the RCA Sympathy Club.
Thelma will be sadly missed by her three sons Gary D. (Wife-Alberta) Schmidt, Hartford
City, Gene A. Schmidt, Hartford City, and John W. Keenan, Lebanon; and sister, Dorothy
Stover, Hartford City.
She also was preceded in death by six brothers, Marion Elliott, Gerald Elliott, Floyd
Elliott, Chester Elliott, Gene Elliott and Clayton Elliott; and sister, Crystal Bell.
Graveside services are at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Gardens of Memory cemetery, Muncie, with
the Rev. Philip Abram of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating.
Visitation for Thelma are private for the family.
Keplinger Funeral Home 509 N. High St., Hartford City, handled arrangements.
