Hello. I have some information on Wanda J. Beeson. My name is Angie Ybarra and I'm
from Texas. My Father-in-law is Mauro Frederick Ybarra and he is the son of Wanda J.
Beeson. He was born on April 17, 1944. As of today, he had always thought his
Mother's last name was Frederick until I found her listed on the 1930 census as Wanda
J. Beeson, granddaughter of the Cortwrights. I have recently become a member of
Ancestry.com and have been doing my research on my family and my husband's family as
well. I located Dorothy's name on the 1920 census and did the math and figured she
had to be Wanda's mother. Finding your posting was a gem!!! My Father-in-law's
Father Mauro Ybarra died in WWII April 6, 1945. There was a newspaper article in the
Hartford City Newspaper dated April 21, 1945 on the left hand side of the front page
titled "Soldier Awarded Badge Before Death.....The young soldier's wife, Wanda J.
Yvarra was notified Thursday in a telegram from the War Department tha!
t her husband had been killed....the widow and a small son, Fred reside at 1702 South
Poplar Street, this city". The address is the same address listed on the left hand
side of the census. My Father-in-law has wondered about his Mother and heritage for
years. Wanda J. Beeson for whatever reason, brought him to his Grandmother in Texas right
after his Father died in WWII and never returned to see him. My Father-in-law has mixed
feelings about this, but nevertheless deeply loves his Mother even though he never knew
her beyond his infant years.
If you or anyone else can provide any other information about Wanda J. Beeson,
please-please reply!!!! My Father-in-law would love any information as to his ancestry on
his Mother's side and/or just any stories you may have about her. Thank you for
reading this posting and thank you for your time. :)
