Hi Everyone,
I researched in Blackford, Wells, Jay, and Randolph Counties in 2000 and need
another trip there to continue my family history. My surnames for those
areas are: DUFFORT (DUFFORD), MILLER, SARBER, SMITH, MARKER, NINE. Those are my
direct lines and I also research all collateral lines.
Henry Duffort (Dufford) and his wife Margaret Miller Duffort moved to
Blackford County by mid 1860s. He was living in Bulter County, Pennsylvania on the
1860 Census. He, his wife Margaret, son William J. Duffort and Margaret's
mother Margaret (maiden name unknown) Miller are buried in the North Twibell
Cemetery in Montpelier. Also buried in that cemetery is Amanda Sarber McGowen
Smith, my great-great-grandmother who was the granddaughter of Henry and Margaret
Duffort.
Buried in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Montpelier is Aaron and Eliza (Duffort)
Sarber, my great-great-great-grandparents and the parents of Amanda Sarber
McGowen Smith. Eliza Duffort is the daughter of Henry and Margaret Miller
Duffort.
