Hi Mark. I understand your dilemma of not being able to easily find some cemeteries. The
Balsley cemetery in Roll and the Schmidt cemetery in Roll are not in any way visible from
their roads.
The Roll Cemetery however, is in the town of Roll, directly on SR 18, beside a church on
the south side of SR 18 and easily visible from the road. It is very close to the old
Roll school house; school house on the north side of the road, church and cemetery on the
south side of the road. A real close location is latitude, 40.33.072; longitude,
85.23.817.
It is a small cemetery ~ I have recorded 98 burials there. Matthias Jr and his wife Lucy
are buried there with a respectable marker, as are their son Edmund and his wife Clercy
Catherine Boxell and other members of the Boxell family. There is a marker there for Ward
Webster and his wife, Ruth Anna Roby and two others with the surname Roby. Ward was
another child of Matthias and Lucy. There are four children of Israel and Lettie Martha
(Earhart) Roll buried in the Roll Cemetery. Three Roll children of Edmond and Clercy
Catherine are buried in the Roll Cemetery.
My line is Matthias to Edmund to Jennie to William Roll to John to me. I live about 10
miles from the Roll cemetery. If I can help you in any way, please let me know.
