Ashley—Usselman.
A large and beautiful wedding of Thursday took place at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. J. B. Usselman, who live on the St. Joe road, when their daughter,
Florence, became the bride of Mr. George S. Ashley. The appointed hour of
the ceremony was 5 o'clock and the officiating ministers were Rev. C. C.
Travis and Rev. J. C. Leech, each of whom had part in the marriage service.
The wedding music was played by Miss Florence McMillen, who selected
Mendelssohn's wedding march to announce the approach of the bridal party.
First came Miss Gladys Leader, alone, and then followed two bridesmaids,
Misses Nina Messinger and Gladys Griebel. The pride walked with her father
and met the bridegroom in the parlor where he awaited her, attended by
Messrs. Harold Broxon and Harry Watterson, of Buffalo, N. Y. The pianiste
played "Hearts and Flowers" softly during the service. The bride, a fine
looking young woman, looked very lovely in her bridal costume. Her gown
was a simply made but rich one of white satin messaline trimmed with fine
lace and fashioned in princess style with a slight train. The bride had
neithér veil nor flowers in her hair, but she held a bouquet of bride roses
tied with shower effect of satin ribbon. Miss Leader wore a rose pink silk
mull gown. Miss Messinger wore a white batiste made with swiss insertion
and valenciennes lace, and Miss Griebel wore a fine French lawn made with
val lace. Each of the bridesmaids held white roses, tied with long ends
and loops of white ribbon and, the young women contributed their share to
the beauty of the bridal party. The parlor was canopied in white crepe
paper and in the corner of the room where the bride and groom plighted
their troth there was a pretty arrangement of small ferns and jars of
Marguerites. Other rooms of the house, were decorated in pink and garden
flowers principally roses, filled....The rest of the article was unreadable.
