There are lists of orphanages, asylums, etc. in the City Directories. One
such list in the 1917 Fort Wayne Directory on our site is at page 59:

I am researching a gentleman listed on the 1930 Allen County, Perry
Township, County Home.. OK this is what I don't understand he is listed as a
prisoner.
Did they keep prisoners in a County Home?? Does anyone know why.
What was the County Home is Allen County. I had thought is was for older
person who didn't have family to look out for them. The person I am
researching was only 30 years old.
Any information would be helpful
