Hi Lou,
I have relatives that are buried in St. Aloyisus Cemetery also. My
GGGgrandmother was Veronica Miller and her parents donated the land to
build
St. Aloyisus. There is probably a connection. I will have to check
what I
have and get back to you.
I do know that the Sorg's were some relation.
Ellen
Hi Ellen,
Besides Veronica Miller what last names of yours are buried in that
cemetary? If you are from that area you might likely be aware of the
house on Pleasant Ctr. Rd. which has been designated a Nat'l Historical
Home or monument. It does not look at all like it used to look. At any
rate, it was built and lived in by my grt grandfather Peter Sorg.
You know that there were two interesting settlements in Pleasant twp.
The larger one was German. There was also a smaller French settlement
and another over in an area called Besconcon (spelling?).
Well, I would like to hear from you on your names and what you know
about the area. I knew it fairly well. One of us can probably give the
other one some interesting information.
Sincerely,
Lou Moses loumoses(a)indy.net Carmel IN
