It is true that some very heartless acts of vandalism have taken place in
cemeteries, but let us also think of the people who give of their time to
clean and repair cemetery damage, whether the damage was caused by
vandalism or neglect. I am thinking specifically of the National
Guardsmen who brought in equipment and volunteered their time to repair
vandalism damage in Fort Wayne's St. John Lutheran Cemetery. I also have
a special spot in my heart for the young boys that cleaned decades of
vegetation out of the Brown Cemetery in Monroe Township. My ancestors are
buried there and originally owned the farm.
An article about the cleanup appeared in the July 21 edition of the
Monroeville News. These people were named as helping:
Monroe Township Trustee Max Meyer
Eagle Scout candidate Glen Martin
Eagle Scout George Martin
Scout Master Pat Cronin
Mrs. Jaesoon Martin
Gabriel Gan
Nathan Gan
Ryan Kinsey
Brian Park
Seth Johnson
Justin Lim
Have a good day!

I believe that this cemetery has been vandalized many times, that is probably
why it is locked. My friend's baby sister is buried there and they have had
to replace her flower arrangements and decorations many times.
