Is this the same as the Allen County Infimirary? My gg Grandfather
Eugene
Alfred Cattin passed away there Sept, 13, 1928. His obituary states
that he
had been a resident there for the past four years.
Thanks,

Mike,
I lived in FtWayne the first 35 years of my life. I cannot say with
absolute certainty that the Infirmary and the State Farm were not one
and the same. However, I can tell you that I never heard anyone
reference the State Farm as the Infirmary. My somewhat educated guess
is that they were not the same. The fact that you had the ancestor you
mention makes it unlikely that he would have been at the State Farm.
This was not a place for the mentally ill. The farm was a place where
the mild to moderately retarded were kept.
Best luck, Lou loumoses(a)indy.net
