The best thing about staying at Hometown is that it is about half the cost
of the other places and it is about 5 minutes from the main library.
It is a straight shot down Washington Blvd. And we're talking about 35 to
40 dollars a night.

Were it me, I think I'd stay at the Luxbury or the other new motel at I-69
and US 24 on the west side of town. It's only about 3-4 miles from the
library, and an easier drive than coming in from New Haven. Several good
restaurants there too, and a grocery, drug store, fast-food joints, gas
stations, a branch library, theaters, the State Police post and a hospital!
There is no inexpensive place to park downtown. The lot east of the library
at the corner of Webster and Wayne is the handiest, but very pricey, even
if you get the all-day rate. About the only other alternative is to park at
a meter on Wayne St. or Webster St., but then you have to go out and feed
the meter every two hours (except on Sunday).
I don't know what the taxi rates are in Fort Wayne, but it might just be
cheaper to take a cab from your hotel to the library, rather than drive and
pay for parking. I doubt that there are convenient bus routes in the area.
Hope this helps.

There are three things which are real:
God, human folly and laughter.
The first two are beyond our comprehension.
So we must do what we can with the third.
