Yes, I looked up a listing in the city directory for Velma and Ray. I will check the
Emmaus book on Tuesday for you. Like I said though, I think the year may be to recent to
find it in the libraries book but, I will see. I will look to see if I can find anything
else for you too. I will make copies of what I find and snail mail them to you.
Wish me luck,
Sue

Good morning Sue:
Nice to hear from you again. I think that you might be the person who
was working some of my issues earlier this year. I went through my papers
just now and I see that I have the Church name spelled both ways. In the
set of taped notes that Velma (Wietfeldt) Dutton transcribed for the family
the name is spelled "Emmaus" in two places, so I believe she would be the
more authoritative source.
Velma also mentions that it was her husband's (Raymond R. Dutton) dream
that their son John L. Dutton attend Emmaus School, which he did. The
years would have been roughly 1948-52. Might there be Emmaus School records
in the library?
We look forward to hearing back from you re the above and the obituary.

Are you sure of the name of the church? I know of an Emmaus Lutheran
church, I don't know if the book at the library has that current of
information. I can check next Tuesday when I am at the library if you can
find out if the name you gave for the church is correct or if it could be
the one I mentioned.

List:
We would like to acquire a copy of the baptismal record for John L.
Dutton, born in
Ft. Wayne on 22 August 1938. He was baptised at Emmons
Lutheran Church shortly thereafter. Is there a list member who can assist us
in locating this baptismal record? Expenses would be covered.
