Pat:
some of us are still out here trying to find data.
I noted on the improved access to Ancestry. Com census data.
That after going thru the woes of spelling and phonetics I found that a great
uncle Christian Kridler.
Not spelled that way something like Crysler lived with Hayfield.
I suspect that that is same Hatfield who was involved in the Hatfield
Cemetery as Chris Kridler was a lot holder and patron?
This brings me to the genealogy question that bugs me, That is the lack of
data on deaths in the period 1880 to 1890 in Fort Wayne.
This intrigues me in two ways one a notation that is on Hatfield Cemetery
records that a female was interred in Hatfield in the Chris Kridler plot in 1889.
Name unknown.
Second during that period a Sister to my grandfather, Mary Ann Seitz b 1862
In Allen, died. Further during that period my greatgreatgrandparents Emanuel
Kreidler in one census and in the 1880 census carried as Stephan and Peggy
Crider ages 73 and 75 living Washington Township disappear as well. Assuming death
occurred in Fort Wayne how do I determine this, Is it possible.
I have noted, again on Ancestry. Com that several Fort Wayne papers are being
indexed and available to read on this web site. I did find the finalization
of my greet grandparents divorce and the entire family of a great-uncle.
Also some continuing case of a man and women carried as crider and krider.
I would like to get somewhere on Mary Ann. Stephen Emanuel and Margaret
(Peggy) Kreider Kreidler Crider Kridler.
Again thanks to your initial efforts in 1998 and continuing efforts of you
and the staff in Fort Wayne since then I have started from a telegram found in a
garage by brother sent in 1933 to My grandfather advising of his brother
Emanuel death to Uncovering much of this family direct line since then. That was
the only thing I knew about my grandfathers family. Since then it appears
Valentine was born in 1829 in Lancaster Pa based on Civil War records and death
records.
Another missing link is the burial of two children who appeared to have died
in the late 1850 great great grandparents appear to have lived in Allen County
from 1851 based on court testimony.
The biggest find was finding my great-grandfather Valentines grave in Auburn
and the placement of a Civil War Era tombstone, courtesy of VA as he was Civil
War Veteran in Evergreen Cemetery Auburn, IN.
Again thank you for your past efforts and I know how valuable your efforts
are.
Very Respectfully,
John
