A visit to Ft. Wayne is a great experience. They have people in the
genealogy section that are very helpful. They will show you the various sections, how
to make copies [you get a plastic card at the coin machine that will take
paper money also. If you use all of the money on the card, just take it back to
the machine and insert more money to upgrade the card.] They have a wonder
card section to help you find your surnames, census rolls and soundex census. At
the parking area, they can give you a list of restaurants that you might wish
to visit. Not too far away is a hotel, but I understand that their are a lot
of motels there also. I am sure that someone can direct you to these.
Since they are not open on Sundays in the summer, I would plan on going during the
week and staying over.
