I would just like to comment that this is a very good workshop. I
attended one in Whitley County last fall. As a result of the things we
learned, a number of Hively Cousins restored a small cemetery on the
former farm of Jacob Hively in Whitley County.

The Allen County Genealogical Society is offering a one-day classroom and field cemetery
restoration workshop.

Cemetery restoration at Hatfield Cemetery

9 am through the afternoon
Presentations by:
Jeanne Regan-Dinius of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources
John Walters, Fayette County, IN Cemetery Supervisor and Graveyard Groomer.
The morning session, starting at 9am, will be held inside the Allen County Public
Library. Jeanne Regan-Dinius will discuss how to locate cemeteries using maps and land
records, cemetery preservation, and projects by the Indiana Department of Nautral
Resources to locate and maintain Indiana's cemeteries.
The afternoon session will consist of a trip, in your own car to Hatfield Cemetery at
1pm. John Walters will demonstrate gravestone repair techniques.
Lunch will be on your own.
Cost of the workshop is $15 before September 11, 2000,
$20 after that date.

If I remember right, there was some talk over this list last year regarding the Hatfield
Cemetery. This should be a very interesting program.
