Wow, I never thought Id get all the responses the have come up. I want to
thank everyone that replyed here and to me personally. I want to say that
when I used the Allen county records office in 1981 in person for records
from the 1880's, I not only received everything I asked for, but it took all
of half an hour. What my cousin was looking for was a death certificate of
our GG grandfathers brother, who died in his fathers home two months before
his father, our GGG grandfather. In 1981 I was able to get our GGG
grandfathers death certificate. The Indiana Board of Health had records
back to 1900. Before that, they refer you to the county offices who in this
case, were of great help 20 years ago but can't seem to find anything now
and still have no problem keeping anyones money.
Thank you again to everyone for their comments and suggestions.

On the Allen Co. GenWeb page under "Indiana Links" I have
the web site for
the Indiana Board of Health. They have a form you can print-out and mail
for birth and death ctfs. I know Allen County is not at all helpful in
obtaining birth and death info.
