Concordia College in Fort Wayne grew out of a trip in 1841 by Pastor Wyneken
to Germany. Wyneken interested Dr. William Loehe to move a theological
seminary for future Lutheran pastors to America and to locate at Fort Wayne.
The transplant from Germany was made in 1847 with the move of 11 students
to a four-room house near the parsonage of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. In
1848, 15 acres of ground and a brick house on Maumee Ave. near Anthony Blvd.
were purchased for the development of the new college. The orginial site of
Concordia College is now the site of the Indiana Institute of Technology.

Subject: [INALLEN-L] Original Concordia (Loehe) Seminary location
Can anyone tell me the location of the original Concordia Lutheran
seminar
founded by Loehe in 1846? It might be in Marion Township, Allen County.
Thanks.
