Hi,
You guys are really making me hunger for the good old days. All the Christmas treats we
had in Ft Wayne were great and one I haven't heard mentioned was sledding in Franke
Park. As I remember it they even had lights on the course so we could sled at night!

Debbie:
The intersection where the tree was is Wayne and Calhoun. There used to be a Murphy's
store, Woolworth's, etc. in that area. For many years the tree was gone and that was
one of the many things that I missed about Christmas downtown.
The stores are gone and replaced with office buildings. They have built a walkway above
the street between two buildings just a hair north of the Wayne and Calhoun intersection.
They now put a tree up there on top of the walkway; not exactly over the intersection
though.
Christmas in Fort Wayne was fantastic back when we were little. That is for sure.
Where do you live now?
Happy New Year.......................... Cheri

A belated Merry Christmas to you all, and a Happy, Blessed New Year.
I used to live in DeKalb County when I was a child, and every Christmas time we went to
Fort Wayne to see the Magic Window and Wolf & Dessauers, and the big Christmas tree
that was set up over an intersection in Fort Wayne. I know that W&D's is gone,
but do they still put up the big tree over the intersection?
I've just been reminiscing about Christmas when I was little.
Thanks!
Yours in Christ,
Debbie
