Doug,
You might want to try the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild at Rootsweb.
There are 23 ships listed for 1876, however they are all from a 10 day
period at the end of Sept. to Oct. 7th, 1876.

Might be a long shot - but you never know!
Good Luck!

Subject: [INALLEN-L] lookup help
I am looking for assistance in obtaining some records concerning
Ellis
Island immigration for the year 1876 for the following individuals who
immigrated from Treba, Czechoslovakia (though this probably wasn't the port
of departure) George and Josephine Herman with children Anna and John as
well as Anton and Annie Vannous (Annie and Josephine were sisters), they
all came over together. According to the NARA, the library at Fort Wayne
has the microfilm covering this year but due to the nature of the search,
the staff at the library declined to assist in this (and understandably so
as it might take a while to find without a specific date of arrival). If
anyone is willing to help, I would be most grateful and will gladly
reimburse for copies and postage. I am also happy to reciprocate the favor
for lookups around Cleveland, I have a trip planned to an LDS library in
January and visit occasionally the genealogy department for the Cuyahoga
county library. I wouldn't ask but !
most libraries don't have these films.
Thanks,
Doug
