Hi Mona & Kim,
I checked the Concordia Cemetery book and didn't find Johann Christian,
Dorothea or Hermann. There are some Wichmann's buried there - Caroline
1858-1925, Eleonore 1885-1898, Henrietta 1884-1887 & John T. 1857-1932.
St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at it's present location was not opened until
1872. This was their third cemetery. Their first was the "Broadway
Cemetery" part of this cemetery was used by St. John's. All the graves
were moved to Lindenwood Cemetery. St. John's second location was on Maple
Ave. All the graves were moved to the present location.
I have talked with the caretaker at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, some of
the early records were destroyed in a fire. I will check the Lindenwood
Cemetery book the next time I am at the library.
Linda

Mona, I have Wayne Township Cemetery Book which lists most cemeteries
except
Concordia and some real small ones. I looked up Wichmann and there is
no
listing at all so he could be buried in Concordia or maybe the stone was
so worn
it couldn't have been read. There is a cemetery in Ft. Wayne
called St.
Johns
Lutheran Cemetery. It is located on Engle Road. I have requested
information
from a few cemeteries and they have all been very helpful. I have
heard
that it
is better to call. I was talking to someone that works at a cemetery
and
she
said that if they are busy they put the letters aside and sometimes
forget
about them!!!! You can find the address and telephone numbers online
in
the
yellow pages.
Good luck,
Kim
