Hi Theresa, After taking the Holidays off from my research, I am now ready
to get back at it. I thought I would start by reading through some old
emails to refresh my memory of where I was at and what I was working on. I
found this old email from you and I can't remember for sure if I ever
answered back to you or not. If I did not, I am very sorry, as I would
never intentionally not answer my mail. Anyway I did find this email of
yours very interesting.Do you know this Eleanor Van Horn? If so, did you
ever check with her about what ever happened to Mildred's work? I would
very much like to see if there is anything there that would help my
research. Also if whoever owns this research would give their permission,
It would be nice to get it into the Rootsweb database. I would be happy to
talk to this Eleanor myself, or whoever has this research if you would
prefer. I would just need to know who to contact, and how. Also I am not
familiar with the Besancon Historical Society. Did you ever, or could you,
look and see if there are any Van Horn family histories filed there. I
would very much appreciate any help you could give me. Rick

Rick, the Marquardt Lutheran Church is located on the southwest corner of
the
intersection of Grotrian & Hoffman roads in Madison township. If
you are
familiar with east Allen County, you can take Monroeville Rd. east
off
U.S.
27 for about 10 miles. At the Grotrian Rd. sign, wing a left for
about a
mile. In
relation to the Van Horn name, a local schoolteacher lady, now deceased,
by
the name of Mildred Perl Van Horn, did extensive genealogical
research &
historical research for many years. Her daugher-in-law, Eleanor Van
Horn, is
still alive and may know which of the children may have kept
Mildred's
work.
I will check at the Besancon Historical Society Archives to see if
any
Van
Horn family histories are filed there. Maybe you know more than I
can
find
for you, but I will still look and inquire, if you want.
