What a wonderful note to wake up to.
Yes Jacob Hill had 9 siblings in all. My Gr Gr Grandfather was his brother
William Hill. David and Sarah were married 20 March, 1847 in Hagerstown, MD
and moved with several children who were born in PA to Greene County, OH and
lived there for several years. Later after a few more children were born
they moved to Ft. Wayne, Allen County, IN where they lived. David and Sarah
are buried in Fogwell Cemetery in Ft. Wayne. I have a picture of their
grave. I have much information on all of their children and will be happy
to share. Jacob was the oldest, Mary Polly (Magdalena), Adam David,
William, Catherine Anna, Israel, Sarah Elizabeth (which is where the Arick
family comes in) David Andrew and Ephraim Anthone.
So happy to finally find someone who is in on the Hill family. Welcome.
Elsie Simpson

Lopshire
One Correction to what Marianne just said : Jacob Hill, the eldest
son of
David Hill and Sarah Fogwell was married to Elizabeth "McNair", not "
McMaier".
Eizabeth McNair was one of 10 children born to John and Jane McNair
who
were
Irish immigrants from County Antrim who immigrated first to Canada
where
their
children were born. On May 30, 1838 they moved from London, Ontario
to
Allen
County, Indiana. Four of Elizabeth McNair's brothers and two of
her
brother-in-laws fought in the Civil War. Jacob Hill had at least six
sibs. A
sister of
Jacob Hill by the name of Catherine Anna Hill married William
Branstrator.
Two
of their children married other McNair family members who were
children of
Neil
McNair (Elizabeth's brother). I am descended from yet another one
of Neil
McNair's children.
Are either one of you (Marianne or Elsie Simpson) direct descendants of
Jacob
Hill and Elizabeth McNair? If so, we are cousins and I have much to
share
with you.
