Hi,
I have tried the Allen Co. Library site in reference to the obit lookups,
and have never gotten the database to do anything. Perhaps I have been doing
it wrong. If you say that it works, I'll believe you, and try again. I just
assumed that it wasn't runing properly and that someday it would get fixed.
Thanks for the info.

Karl,
Thanks for suggesting the Allen County Obits Lookup. The first name I
entered was a success. In the notes column the message is: f//s of A C
Katt. I believe the person searched is the son of A C Katt which would
answer the letter s, but what does the f mean? In looking at other names
several have the f in a similar position but most have the letter d. Any
help?
Susie

The Allen County Public library Genealogy department may have the book that
you are look for. Along with the obituaries and any information that would be
obtained in a book. I do lookups for the Allen County Public library for a
reasonable amount, but you don't have to pay until I find what you are
looking for, if there is any information on it. I know that the information
on Allen County is quite good, for I have family there too and I've looked in
a lot of the books. If you need any more help just ask or email me. Good Luck.
Sincerely,
Brandi
Is there anyone in Allen County who does obit lookups for a reasonable fee or

Inclusive, Volume 2, D-J. I would like information on the birth (10 April
1918) of a male child whose father was Carl Damenfelser and mother was Louise
Scheips. Can someone do this lookup for me? Thanks

I am looking for any info on John W Purman, b about 1878 and was in a obit
dated July 10, 1949 in Fort Wayne, Allen Co. His wife, Ruth A Purman, nee
Mosely, is mentioned as surviving wife. She was born in AR abt 1873 & would
have been about 73 years old.
I am looking for their children and when and where they are buried.
He was a bookkeeper per the city directory in 1910. They lived for many
years in the area. I know there were other Purman's in the area.
Thank you

Looking for any Hickman's. My Samuel Hickman was married to Martha Sriver
in 1855 in Allen Cty, Indiana. They had John Wesley Hickman, LuLu (m.
Beals), Alice (m. Stocking) and Mary (m. Jacob Wegenman). John Wesley's
obit states that Mary was a half sister. John Wesley's daughter, Jessie
Dean, married Oliver Elmer By, son of Abraham Oliver and Charlotte Agnes
Bishop. Abraham Oliver Bly's parents were William Bly and Elizabeth.
Charlotte Agnes Bishop's parents were John Bishop and Charlotte Keller.
Anyone have these names in their trees? Would love to connect them with
others in Allen County!

You recently did some search for me on the PRAY family, and got me two OBITS. The one area of the date of death on GORDON PRAY is the different dates of death. I already had the death certificate for him, and it has the date of death as 27, NOVEMBER, 1949. The way it looks between the OBIT and the Funeral Home Record is they have the date as 24, NOVEMBER, 1949. That was Thanksgiving weekend in that year. What i am trying to get to is, how could i verify the exact date of death for GORDON PRAY? I want to think that the 24th is the correct date, because it comes up twice in two different areas.
Also you stated in your one response to me that you would be willing to look at the 1910 and 1920 census records. Would those be for that area? I have just completed looking at the 1910 and 1920 censun records for WAYNE COUNTY MICHIGAN and came up with quite a bit of information for the PRAY family at that time. If you think that looking at the census records in Indiana would be worth it, then feel free to do the search for me. I can't thank you enough already for the work you have done for me.
