I am looking for some help! Oral legend in our family is that we are
descended from Col. Ethan Allen of the Green Mountain Boys. My great-great
grandmother, Jeanette Phoebe (HUNT) VANDERVORT told my mother and her
siblings that she was two generations removed from Ethan Allen, who was
considered a black sheep of the family. A possible connection might be
through her father's (George HUNT) mother whose maiden name we believe to be
MOOREHOUSE (?sp) or possibly through a family name of EASTMAN. So far in my
research this is the point I am stuck at these names and having a hard time
finding any documentation to go further back. In researching Ethan Allen's
family coming forward I haven't come across these surnames.
Any help you are able to offer would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Pam!
Do you know where your Knapp family came from in Germany? I have an Eliza Knapp who married John Henry Gerke on 21 Apr 1864 in Adams County. I know the Gerkes came from Bohmte, Germany and several other families from Bohmte came too. The Gerkes married Knapps in Germany.

I should also mention that the Hatfield Cemetery is located on Washington
Center Blvd., about 1/2 mile west of Lima Blvd. on the south side of the
road between 2 trailer parks.

able to find any records.
Thank You,
