They may have, I'll have to check with my mom. I think my dad was raised a
Presbyterian, but they joined the Lutheran Church after Marriage. I'll
archive your reply, for later contact, if that's okay. Thanks
This is for anyone that has ancestors buried at Hatfield Cemetery,
Washington Township, Allen County. Hatfield Cemetery is an one acre plot of
land donated to Washington Township in 1830 by my gggg grandfather Thomas
Hatfield. It's located on Washington Cen. Road about a mile west of Lima Rd
and sits between 2 trailer courts on the south side of the road. I'm
hoping somebody there in Allen County might want to try to help. There's
not much I can do because I live in Terre Haute, IN. and can't get up there
as much as I'd like. I try to get to Allen county once or twice a year to
do some cleaning at Hatfield Cem however I haven't been there for 2 years,
until this week and I was just sick. Many of the headstones have been
knocked over, some pushed down an embankment and at least one looks like it
was picked up and shattered. The front of the site looks like it has been
mowed however the back is very overgrown with bushes overtaking a lot of
the gravesites. There are quite a number of Civil War Veterans buried here.
I took pictures to the Fort Wayne police who say it's a county problem. I
took the pictures to the County Sheriff station, they say talk to the
Historical Society. I went there and figured they would surely help, after
all, Thoams Hatfield was the first permanent resident in Washington
Township, arriving in 1826. They wouldn't even come down to look at the
pictures and said to talk to the genealogical society. The genealogical
socity seemed interested but I couldn't tell for sure. None of my ancestors
were bothered or overgrown that I could see but I couldn't find Thomas
Hatfield or his wife Elizabeth's site. Could someone who lives near there
please try to maybe find a scout troop or any group willing to take on a
project. I believe everyone on this mailing list is here because we are
interested in our family roots. Hatfield Cemetery is our family historys.
Thank You,
Brian E. Smead
Did your grandparents go to Third Presbyterian Church?
If so, they were friends of my grandparents. I distinctly
remember my grandmother always talking about Mrs. Gresley.

Got it thanks'
Do you know how to find out about any WARDRUMS from Kansas, mid to late
1800's, my other grandparents came out to Washington State in the early
1900's. Do you have any Kansas connections.
Hi Mike
It worked fine for me last night. Found it interesting. I bookmarked it,
as I think will be used in the future.
Thanks
Sue

Sue,
I know someone. His name is Gus. His E-mail is gustafso(a)ecn.purdue.edu.
He lives in Indiana and does have access to the 1880 Census Index for
Indiana.
Maybe he can look for you.

Does anyone have access to the 1880 Cenus index for Indiana. I am looking
for Jerimiah Hammond/Hammon. He was in Ohio in 1870, Van Wert Co, and may
have moved over to Indiana.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Sue Kramer
