I believe that this cemetery has been vandalized many times, that is probably
why it is locked. My friend's baby sister is buried there and they have had
to replace her flower arrangements and decorations many times.

Hatfield Cemetery is on Washigton Center Rd. It is a small ran down
cemetery. I have family buried there who are you looking for?

There are three things which are real:
God, human folly and laughter.
The first two are beyond our comprehension.
So we must do what we can with the third.
Lindenwood Cemetery is the main public cemetery in Fort Wayne. There is
no religious affiliation.
Have a good day!

Hope this helps you out. Nancy
Sandy, I was born and raised in Ft.Wayne and have numerous relatives buried
in Lindenwood Cemetery. It is a public cemetery founded in 1859 and consists
of 175 acres. It really is quite beautiful and is included in the National
Register of Historic Places by the U.D.Dept.of the Interior. There are over
62,000 people buried there according to its booklet which the office gave to
me. The office is very large, impeccably clean, has tons of information
recorded in numerous books, and is equipped with wonderful staff. Good luck
in your searches. Nancy

I'd be interested as well. The Mumma burial is a relative who lived in
Paulding Co. I have the info from the death certificate and that burial was
in Pleasant Valley, but the death certificate in Paulding Co. didn't mention
the location of the cemetery. I originally thought it was in Ohio. The
McConaughy could also be related (though the spelling is different.)

cemetery:

Hello.
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this abandoned cemetery. It
was located on Adair Road a couple of miles outside the town of Hoagland.
According to the Madison and Monroe Township Cemeteries transcriptions book,
it had 10 people buried there maybe even more. The book was published in
1979 and stated that the cemetery was abandoned and in a "terrible mess." I
took a trip out there yesterday and couldn't even find it. I did find a
small cleared section of land between two cornfields just about where the
cemetery was supposed to have been but found no stones.
If anyone has any idea where exactly this cemetery was could you please let
me know.
Any info appreciated...

I am researching the James Stone family and the following was written by
one of his daughters. Is there any record about the people abducted
after the St. Clair defeat or what happened to them?
I found the following in a NGF Quarterly, March 1960; Vol 48 No.#1 pg
40.
"NOTES
Edited by John Frederick Dorman
MISSING PERSONS - The two advetisements which follow appeared in the
Ohio register, published at Mount Vernon, Ohio, 11 August 1819.
Information Wanted.
At the time of General St. Clair's defeat, about twenty-eight years ago,
the subscriber was taken prisoner by the Indians, and thereby separated
from her kindred, of whom she has not heard since. She was the daughter
of JAMES STONE, by his second wife - was born in Bucks County,
Pennsylvania. Her father removed from thence to Little Whitely Creek,
about three miles from its confluence with the Monongahela river, where
he died. At this place her half-brother Elias Stone (who married Miss
Betsey Baldwin) then lived: who had a sister living about forty miles
above at a place called the Forks of Cheat. At Little Whitely Creek her
mother was married to Mr. Peter Walden, who removed with his family to
Post St. Vincent on the Wabash river, where he was killed by the
natives. Here she was married to Mr. James Fullen, (who she believes
was killed), and her mother to Mr. Lewis Surveyor. One of her sisters
(Margaret Stone) married a Mr. Malbuff - the other (Betsey) a Mr.
Smith. She had three brothers, James, Samuel and John Stone. After
eleven months cruel treatment by the savages, she was ransomed by a
benevolent Frenchman of Detroit, who was then trading among the Indians.
If any person can give information of her connections, they will confer
a favor by addressing a letter to her by mail.
Sally (or Sarah) Gearhart

Thanks in advance for any information or directions.

I very much appreciate the information afforded through the Rootsweb
connection, but am getting very wary of the GeoCities/Yahoo influences here.
I would think hyperlinks would not cause a frequent amount of computer
shutdowns as I have been having after the GeoCities/Yahoo advertising comes
on. Is anyone else experiencing so much difficulty to your knowledge; or is
it just my computer?
