My many thanks to all who responded to my query regarding burials at The
Roman Catholic Cemetery on Lake Ave. I received, in response to a phone call,
an immediate answer and the info that I had been looking for. Too bad that
all cemeteries do not respond in the same prompt manner.

No, not in contact. No, her maiden name is Lupke. She lived on the
corner of Lavern and (then) Maysville RD.
Hattie and Delmer Byers were our very good friends. They left there
and went to Lake Wawasee, where we summer vacationed for quite a few
years. My wife graduated St. Jude 1945. CC 49,
Correct zip for the Catholic Cemetery is 46805-5534 Judy C.

Hi Harry, didn't mean to override your question. On the Fort Wayne Map it is
listed as "Roman Catholic Cemetery". It is very large and extremely well
maintained. The mailing address is 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN, 46802
Phone # (219) 426-2044. You would probably get some info from them. Good
Luck. Judy C. Terre Haute, IN

Stan - Thank you for responding.
My maiden name is Faulkner. My sister, Sandy, lived with dad and would be
more likely to remember the other names. She was born in 1939 (big #60 in a
few weeks) and I would like to contact some of the kids she knew when she
was young so anyone out there remember Sandy Faulkner please contact me. She
would get such a kick out of hearing from you. We are having a surprise
birthday party for her and I could take the emails with me. I remember her
first boyfriend's name was "Fuzzy" Barns. Don't know his real name. Would
love to hear from him. We also lived on Freeman Street around 1945.
I remember so little because I was only there during the summers. I just
remember Darrell D. We lived on Lake Avenue and the house sat directly
facing the entrance to the cemetery. We would sit on the front porch and
watch the funeral processions. My sister and I visited there a few years ago
and our old house was torn down and there are professional building there
now.
We were born in Fort Wayne to James Elwood & Helen Irene (Smith) FAULKNER.
My two older sisters, Janice and Sandy, went to St. Joseph's Church and
School.
Do you have contact with the Dollarhite family? Is your wife's maiden name
Byers? Anyone out there interested in the FAULKNER line contact me at
judy(a)abcs.com I have a lot to share.

Hattie and Delmer Byers had the grocery store.
The correct name for the cementery is "Catholic Cementery," I do not know the
street address.

Are you the Kramer that lived in the cemetery? Played with Sally and
Jimmy Kramer there when it was Maysville road and the grocery was
right across the street.
Harry - I would like to know the answer to that question myself. I grew up
across the street from the cemetery you refer to, on Lake Avenue. My
grandmother, Allie Mae (Holmes) Faulkner and her daughter, Lillian Faulkner,
are both buried there. Even as a child I can only remember it having been
"The Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetery". Anyone out there got an answer to this
one? I am sure we are not the only two interested. Also, does anyone know if
there is a listing available for that cemetery, other than the library.
Would also love to connect with any descendant of the family who lived next
door to us on Lake Avenue, would have been about 1950-1954. The boy who
lived there was DARRELL DOLLERHITE(DOLLARHYDE) or something similar to that.
Would just love to chat with him. We were only about 7 or 8 years old and he
and I used to bury bottle caps in the center of a cluster of big bushes. We
had so much fun. My being a girl, maybe he will remember me. Judy Faulkner
