My Great-Grandfather:
JAMES M. ROBISON
B. ____________
M. Bef. 1900___ ALMNINA/ELMINA MAJOR (fr. Willshire (Van Wert) OH.)
D. _____________ Place unknown
Note: I have followed all available Allen Co. IN. directories in Lib. of
Congress.
I have the following:
1908-- JAMES M. ROBISON listed fr. Eel River, Post Office Fort Wayne, Sec. 34
1909-- ALMINA ROBISON (widow-James) appears at 621 E. Wayne St. Fort Wayne
1915-- MELDIN ROBISON appears, at same address as ALMINA
1954-- ALMINA's last appearance in the directory.
Possible connection: A WILLIAM H. ROBISON appears in Eel River in the
directories, and there was a Mrs. WILLIAM H. ROBISON who stayed with Almina
on a census record. My grandmother said a relative came to visit with a
little girl. There is a WILLIAM H. ROBISON married to ALICE PRATT, with a
young child FLORENCE living near Almina. My Grandmother also remembered a
CHARLIE ROBISON of Chicago.
I have info. on some of the Eel River ROBISON'S, but nothing to connect to
Almina. Does anyone know of these ROBISONS? I checked land records, but
haven't searched the Deeds as yet. I was hoping for a trip back to Ft.
Wayne this fall. I still haven't finished all available research and was
never able to find anything in Van Wert Co. Ohio.
Thanks so much. Colleen
