VIOLA L. GALLMEIER
Viola L. Gallmeier, 86, Fort Wayne, a former Adams County resident, died suddenly at
11:05 Saturday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, of complications from hip surgery.
She was born on May 18, 1911 in Decatur to Martin and Martha Koeneman Bultemeier and
married Paul H. Gallmeier; he died on September 12, 1960.
She was a homemaker and also a cook who retired in 1977 after working 12 years for
North Adams Schools. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Bingen and its
Women's Guild and Ladies Aid Group.
Surviving are a daughter, Glendolyn A. Rhymer, rural Decatur; a brother, Harold
Bultemeier, New Haven; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A son, Kenneth
Gallmeier, died on September 13, 1994, and a brother, Reinhard Bultemeier is also
deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. John Lutheran Church at
Bingen, with burial in the church cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday
in Zwick-Sefton and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the Indiana Radio Reading Service, the church, or
donor's choice.
