Shana; Are you the one at the library who has worked with my cousin Gene
Hindenlang on collecting data on the Hindenlang Family?
I thought it was the Bern library where he was going but could be wrong.
Gene and I have shared a lot of data on the Hindenlang, Miller, Seibert
Families. In some ways I feel guilty being able to go online and find
things that I could not going to the various county offices.
Since he visits the library frequently, I may already have copies. If
not I will try to talk him to look at them and if he does not have
copies to get copies the next time he visits.
If that does not work, we get to Fort Wayne about once a year to visit
my brothers, so I will try to get down the next time we visit.

PS: I have been all excited because I though that I had found a picture
of Catharine Smith Hindenlang Seibert. Verbally it looked very
promising. Then I started looking at pictures that Mary Lee Hall had
online, and now I am not sure it it is Peter and Catharine Seibert, or
his son Frederick and his wife Fredericka Seibert.

of the Hindenlang family. Please contact us at heritage(a)bernepl.lib.in.us

you.

I have been looking at my ancestors and realize there is a probability that
there were photos of those people. I believe that anyone who died after
1870 may have a picture floating around somewhere. Photography became
popular in the Civil War and universally available to the general public
after 1870.
I recently found my ancestor Catharine Smith. She married John George
Hindelang in 1838, and their son John Frederick was born in 1839. While
John George died in 1839 before photography, Cathrine and her second husband
Peter Seibert died in 1900 and 1894 respectfully, I thought I would never
find a picture of them. Then I stumbled across an online tree with the very
picture I was looking for. and the evidence supports the identification of
the people in the picture as Catharine and Peter Seibert.
That got me to wondering how many pictures like this are out there. While
scanning my mother's photos I found pictures of three of my great
grandparents, and one of my 2nd great grandparents.
Does any one out there have pictures of the following people
Harvey S and Ellen S Miller the nephew
Harvey S and Eliza Miller the Uncle
Alva and Margaret Miller
I have pictures of
John Frederick and Henriette Hindenlang
Sarah Jane Jefferies Sutton White small but good
Ellen S Getting Miller. Small but not very good.
I also have pictures from my Nuttle, Snyder, and Barlett sides of the
family.
I am willing to share what I have, and willing to put the research in to
identify any photos you may have, if I can have a copy.
Keith
