MELDREN J. KREPS
Meldren J. Kreps, 85, 317 Oak St., former manager of the Kroger store and maintenance
supervisor of the Adams County Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1973, died suddenly at
8:42 a.m. today at the Adams County Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the Christian Church, Montpelier, and attended the United Brethren
Church, Decatur.
Born in Reiffsburg on June 2, 1899, he was the son of William and Nancy Traux-Kreps,
and was married May 18, 1918, to Thelma Banter, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Meldren J. Kreps, Jr., Williamsburg, Mass.; two sisters,
Mrs. Mary N. Henson, Houston, Tex., Lula Kreps, Decatur; a brother, Lloyd, Oohlagah,
Okla.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One daughter, Lurlene J. Knox,
two sisters and one brother are deceased.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Winteregg-Linn & Haggard Funeral
Home, with Rev. Sylvester Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Ashbury Cemetery,
Montpelier. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday. Masonic services
will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are to the United Brethren Church.
