FUNERAL SERVICES TUESDAY AFTERNOON FOR ISAAC B. RASH
Isaac B. Rash, 70, of 315 East Ellsworth St., died at 3:10 Saturday in the Whitley
County Hospital where he had been a patient only five days. Death was due to a heart
condition which began seven years ago.
Mr. Rash was born July 21, 1899, in Adams County, a son of Isaac B. and Emma Nancy
Bodle Rash.
In 1938 he moved to Ohio and in 1939 he married Iva Irene Harris at Payne, Ohio.
The couple moved to Fort Wayne in 1942 and to the Columbia City area in 1965.
Mr. Rash was an engineer at the International Harvester power plant in Fort Wayne for
38 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose at Decatur.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Robert L., Indianapolis; Ivan
L., Kendallville; and Paul D., Rt. 3; one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen V. Hursh, Fort Wayne;
two stepchildren, Charles Lung of LaGrange and Mrs. Esther Painter of Woodburn; 13
grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Leona Marquette.
Three brothers and a sister preceeded him in death.
Friends may call at the Hollingsworth Memorial Chapel where funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Howard Rees officiating. Interment will be in
Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.

County Native Dies Saturday
Isaac B. Rash, 70, of Columbia City, a native of Adams county died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday
at the Whitley County Hospital, following a lengthy illness of heart trouble.
He was born July 21, 1899 in Adams County, and maintained his membership in the Moose
Lodge here.
Survivors include the wife, Iva Irene, three sons, a daughter, and a stepson and daughter;
a sister, Mrs. Leona Marquett (sic), of route 1, Berne, 13 grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Rash was a retired power plant engineer at International Harvester, Fort Wayne, where
he worked 38 years.
Funeral services will be held at the Hollingsworth Memorial Chapel, Columbia City,
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Howard Rees officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
