James C. Bolt, 88, 126 Ogg St., a retired iron worker, died at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday in the
Indiana Veterans Home, Lafayette, where he had resided since June of 1983. A Native of
Logansport, he was born August 15, 1897, the son of James S. and Elizabeth Palmer-Bolt,
and was married to Lulu Ogg Engle on January 16, 1943; she survives.
Mr. Bolt was a veteran of World War 1 and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Meshberger, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Thurlow
(Jean Ellen) Sanders, route 4, Winamac; two sisters, Dorothy Hummel, Reynoldsburg, Ohio,
and Frances Parker, Fort Wayne; one stepson, Lowell Engle, route 4, Decatur; five
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and five
step-great-grandchildren. One sister and one grandchild are deceased.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Sefton Funeral Home, Father Robert
Dombroski officiating. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Friends
may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorials are to the
donor's choice.
