LeRoy Stauffer
LeRoy Stauffer, 78, Celina, Ohio, a native of Adams County with two relatives living in
Berne, died at home early Tuesday (Ohio time).
He was born in Adams County on August 16, 1910 to Christian and Edna Soldner Stauffer
and married the former Arvilla Hilty on May 5, 1935; she survives.
He was a retired transport milk hauler and an active member of First Mennonite Church
in Berne. He sang in the church's Men's Chorus for 45 years and also taught
Sunday School.
Other survivors are two sons, Christian L. Stauffer, Fort Wayne, and Steven J.
Stauffer, Bluffton; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Erma) Beougher, Celina; one sister, Mrs.
George (Mary Ann) Davis, Berne; two brothers, Waldo Stauffer, Berne, and Harold Stauffer,
Fresno, Cal.; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Friday (Indiana time) in First Mennonite Church
chapel, Revs. Curt Claassen and Randy Boratko officiating. Burial will be in MRE
Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. - noon Friday, and at
the church one hour prior to services. Preferred memorials are to The Gideons
International, Mercer County, Ohio Hospice or Mennonite Men's Chorus.
