RAY BRANDYBERRY IS TAKEN BY DEATH
Long Illness Fatal at Home of Parents
Raymond D. Brandyberry, 45, of 2821 Beaver Avenue, Fort Wayne, died at 2:30 o'clock
Wednesday afternoon at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brandyberry, 315 North
Tenth street in this city. Death followed an illness of two years.
He was born in Berne Oct. 5, 1906, a son of Frank and Ada Barber-Brandyberry. He
attended the Decatur high school and lived here for a number of years. In recent years he
had operated a grocery and meat market on Fairfield Avenue in Fort Wayne. He was married
to Marie Reffey Dec. 31, 1930.
Mr. Brandyberry was a member of the Royal Arch Masons and the Shrine at Terre Haute,
the Knights Templar at Fort Wayne and the Allen county sheriff's reserve posse.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a daughter, Janice Roe, at home; four
brothers, Gregg of Fort Wayne, Robert of Bluffton, and Chester and Randolph, both of
Decatur; and three sisters, Miss Marcella Brandyberry, a major in the army nurses corps
in France, Mrs. Gertrude Waddy of Mineral Wells, Tex., and Miss Florence Brandyberry of
Decatur.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Zwick
funeral home, the Rev. Samuel Emerick officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 o'clock this evening.
