Grace Mounsey, 99
Grace Mounsey, 99, a native of Wells County, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday at Swiss
Village in Berne, where she had resided since 1990. She had been ill for a month and
suffered a stroke May 19.
A homemaker, she was a member of the United Methodist Church at Liberty Center.
She was born in Nottingham Township on Dec. 26, 1899 to J.P. and Hepsey Stevens
Lockwood. Her marriage in Nottingham Township on June 5, 1920 was to Victor V. Mounsey,
who died March 29, 1984.
Surviving are five daughters, Marcella Egly of Lafayette, Mrs. Bill (Vera) Scott,
Mrs. Roger (Mona) Highlen, Mrs. William Michael (Phyllis) Ulmer, all of Bluffton, and Mrs.
Phil (Karen) Collum of Erie, Mich.; four sons, Dean of Poneto, Kay and Brooks, both of
Bluffton, and Bill of Indianapolis; 37 grandchildren; 108 great grandchildren; and six
great great grandchildren. A son, Max, died in 1978.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Liberty Center United Methodist Church with
Rev. Steven Bard officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Warren.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney
Funeral Home. Memorials to Swiss Village or to the church.
