MILDRED G. BROWN
Mildred G. Brown, 77, of Bluffton, who has several relatives in the Decatur area, died
at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Caylor-Nickel Clinic in Bluffton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in
Bluffton, of which she was a member. Rev. Donald Crelin will officiate at the services
and burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County. Friends may call at the
Thoma-Rich Funeral Home, Bluffton, after 7 p.m. today.
She was born Sept. 4, 1901, the daughter of Hayes and Cora Rittenhouse-Beal, in
Huntington County, and married Mahlon Brown on Feb. 14, 1919; he died on March 29, 1970.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Jason (Maxine) Moser of Wren, O., Mrs. Richard
(Helen) Schnitz of Decatur, Mrs. Donald (Bertha Jean) Malson of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Scott
(Doris) Alexander of Franklin, Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Higgins of Richardson, Tex., and Mrs.
Phillip (Judith) Hoopingarner of Florsissant, Mo.; four sons, Robert of Marion, Marvin L.
of Valparaiso, Carl E. of St Petersburg, Fla., and Larry W. of Greenfield; one sister,
Mrs. Lewis (Geraldine) Green of Van Buren; one brother, Carl Beal of Marion, 24
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren,
