DANIEL I. BURLEY
Daniel I. Burley, 84, of route 1, Monroe, a retired farmer and former Decatur General
Electric Co. employe, died at 3 p.m. Monday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital, where
he had been a patient one week. He had been in failing health for four months.
He retired 19 years ago from GE, after seven years of service.
Born in Adams County on Nov. 15, 1892, he was the son of Ardon S. and Emma J.
Rumple-Burley, and was married on May 30, 1946, to Lillie M. Burke, who died Sept. 2,
1972.
Survivors include two children, Glen Burley, route 5, Decatur and Mrs. Calvin (Helen)
Bishop, Fort Wayne; one stepson, Billy Myers, Delphos, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Adeline
Pickering, Lodi, Ohio; one brother, Cecil Burley, Muncie; five grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Zwick Funeral Home
with Rev. Robert James and Rev. Walter L. Kelly officiating. Burial in the MRE Cemetery,
Berne.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and Wednesday until
time of the services. Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association.
