Arnella L. Zelt, 76, of rural Monroeville, died at 7:23 p.m. Sunday in Parkview
Hospital at Fort Wayne after being stricken ill early Saturday at home. Death was due to
natural causes and was unexpected.
She was born on September 11, 1932, in Allen County to Herman F. and Elsie
Bradtmueller Hormann.
She married Delmer G. Zelt on November 25, 1950, in Trinity Lutheran Church at Fort
Wayne. He survives.
She was a homemaker, formerly worked at the Hi Ho Tavern in Poe for 27 years, and was
a member of St. John Lutheran Church (Flatrock).
Other survivors are two sons, Dennis D. Zelt (and wife Becky) of rural Monroeville and
Roger A. Zelt (and wife Julie) of Hoagland; one sister, Dolores Hartman of Fort Wayne;
seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
One son, Stanley L. Zelt; one brother, Delbert Hormann; and two grandchildren are
deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John Lutheran Church
(Flatrock), with Pastor Douglas Christian officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.
Visiting hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur,
and 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to the church or to the "Worship for Shut-Ins"
program.
